Baseball with Jack - Ryan (2017)

One of my favorite pictures is this picture of Jack. We were at a Rough Riders game as families. I brought a hat for Jack just in case he might like it. Admittedly, I was pretty excited about it... Jack is brilliant (as are his sisters) - and I knew math was way in his wheelhouse...so I thought, I wonder if he may enjoy baseball from a statistician point of view? Answer... I can’t remember what we even talked about that day. After all, it wasn’t baseball that I remember or love about this picture.

You see. As soon as I saw Jack I told him I brought him a hat. Jack smiled, and let me know he was so appreciative, but that he really didn't wear hats.

Now, I TOTALLY got that. After all... A: His hair was looking great. B. Anyone who wears glasses knows its not always easy to have a hat on.

So, he took the hat super happily and went to play with Sarah and Caroline. It was about 20 minutes later that he and I went down to watch the game together. He looked at me and asked if he could wear the hat. I smiled and said, "Of course!"

He put it on, told me he really loved it... But not as much as me. Love this kid so much, and I will always love this picture.
